Warren County (Tuesday, July 27, 2021) – From a bridge over the Little Miami River to a bike path crossing on a county road, restrictions on several roadways in the Fosters area of Warren County are being lifted this afternoon.

Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation closed the bridge on U.S. Route 22 over the Little Miami River on June 7, and following 50 days of construction, crews are on schedule to reopen the route by approximately 4:30 p.m. today, July 27.

Along with U.S. 22 reopening to traffic, restrictions are also being lifted on Socialville-Fosters Road and Old 3C Highway, including the pedestrian and bicyclist crossing on Old 3C for the Little Miami Scenic Trail.

However, Fosters-Maineville Road will remain closed through early next week for crews to install pier protection on the columns along the roadway under U.S. 22. A full, seven-day closure will be in effect in both the west and eastbound directions between Old 3C and Butterworth Road through Tuesday, August 3, and motorists will be detoured by way S.R. 48 and U.S. 22.

The Great Lakes Construction Company was awarded a contract for approximately $7.3 million to rehabilitate the U.S. 22 bridge, which consisted of replacing the expansion joints, overlaying the bridge, patching the substructure, and upgrading the guardrail.
