Roadwork to Begin Rich / Davis / Primrose Intersection Safety Improvements October 8th
Work includes intersection realignment and storm sewer repairs
Deerfield Township - Deerfield Township has been working with the Warren County Engineer’s Office for the past two years on the design of a project that would realign Primrose Drive with Rich Road at the Davis Road intersection. These improvements are necessary to improve safety for drivers in the area. The realignment greatly increases visibility and reduces conflict points that can lead to injury-related crashes.
Township Trustees and Administration are moving forward with this safety improvement plan in order to eliminate injury and non-injury crashes that have been known to occur at this intersection. In the past five years alone there have been six injury-related crashes and three non-injury crashes at the intersection of Primrose Drive and Rich Road.
Deerfield Township Reaches Agreement on Children’s Learning Adventure Project Site
Deerfield Township – Deerfield Township staff has reached a preliminary agreement with representatives for Kansas-City-based ECE I, LLC to begin the process of clearing the Children’s Learning Adventure (CLA) site at 8200 Wilkens Blvd.
The owner of the site, ECE I, LLC (ECE), previously leased the property to CLA in order to construct a day care facility. ECE owns numerous other properties across the country (one located in West Chester) that were similarly leased to CLA for childcare and educational purposes.
Deerfield Township Announces Holiday Season Pop Shop
Selected business will receive reduced rent at Deerfield Towne Center and $1,000 grant
Deerfield Township – Deerfield Township announced today a partnership with Ramco Properties, with support from the Mason Deerfield Chamber and Warren County Small Business Alliance, for a pop-up retail store in the Deerfield Towne Center during the 2018 holiday shopping season.
The Deerfield Township Holiday Pop Shop seeks to assist prospective small business owners in the operation of a brick and mortar retail location for a limited time with a reduced level of risk.
The program is intended to help the selected applicant understand what it takes to make the transition from creator, farmer’s market vendor, or online store to a brick and mortar store.
Nightly Alternating Lane Closures on Mason-Montgomery Road Begins Sunday, Sept. 23
Lebanon, Ohio – Deerfield Township/City of Mason – Alternating Lane Closures on Mason-Montgomery Road are scheduled to begin 7 PM – 6 AM, Sunday, September 23, 2018, for paving work between Merten Drive and Socialville-Fosters Road. The lane closures will last for two (2) weeks, weather permitting, and may include work on the weekends as well as weekdays. Expect delays.
Deerfield Township Names New Public Works Director
Deerfield Township – Deerfield Township officials recently promoted Billy Highfill to Public Works Director.
IMPORTANT WEATHER AND SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT
This morning the National Weather Service released a weather briefing regarding heavy rain that is expected this weekend. The briefing included the following information:
- The remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon will bring heavy rain to the area
- Total rainfall will range from 3 to 5 inches, with locally higher amounts possible
- Ohio has an elevated risk for Flash Flooding and Flooding, especially in tributaries (confidence is high that flooding will occur)
- Heaviest rain is projected to occur late Saturday along Ohio/Indiana Border
- Rain will continue into Monday
Due to this threat, a Flash Flood Watch that has been issued for the tristate area from 12:00PM Saturday until 8:00AM Monday.
